”When I was a kid, you know the thing that the drummer sits on,it’s a stool,it’s a small chair. But they don’t call it the stool or chair, they call it the throne. I could never figure that out until I met Matt Cameron and I was like ‘Oh I get it’. ” Eddie Vedder

I really wish if a food-fight would’ve started between PJ and Ticketmaster! That would have been so cool!

“We first got together in Alice In Chains rehearsel studio for a mammoth jamming session and it all fell into place very quickly. We called ourselves the Gacy Bunch (after deceased serial killer John Wayne Gacy) and played three low-key shows at a small club in the city. They went so well that I just said, ‘Lets go into the studio!’. We put down 10 songs in about seven days - it’s the quickest thing I’ve ever been invovled in. I don’t know why it happened so fast. The term Mad Season has been floating around in my head ever since we went to England to mix ‘Ten’. We were out at Ridge Farm studios in Surrey and one of the staff used the term to describe the time of year when magic mushrooms come out of the ground. It can also be used on a more personal basis to describe the period of abuse I put my body through. Both the band and its music has come about as a result of my going through rehab. It’s kind of cathartic - a release of all this energy and emotion that I hadn’t released in years because I’d been drowning them in alcohol for so long.”
